Youth Employment Services gains funding from Quebec

Youth Employment Services, headquartered in Montreal, has announced it will receive about $500,000 from Quebec for various projects to help Anglophone youth integrate into the working world. Youth Employment Services’ projects help more than 300 young Quebecers.

One of the projects will assist new graduates with paid first internships. Another will network young people to help match their skills and preferences with the needs of over 70 cooperating companies. YES ranks French language proficiency highly for everyone living in the province. The organization also plans French/English groups to help young adults not only learn the language but also to be confident in speaking French.

“Our organization believes in our province, and we are glad that with the support of the Quebec government we are able to encourage more youth to succeed and stay in Quebec”, says Iris Unger, Executive Director of Youth Employment Services.

This charitable non-profit organization, created in 1995, provides resources, tools and strategies to improve young Quebecers’ employability and employment opportunities. YES addresses the multitude of difficulties faced by young Quebec anglophones attempting to find and keep work within their province.
