Writer in Residence is looking for candidates
The Writer-in-Residence program, which promotes Quebec literature to the population of Gatineau, is seeking candidates for the nomination of their Writer-in-Residence of the Year 2019.
The successful candidate will receive a fee of $3,500 to devote to a writing project for the entire month of October.
He or she will also be called upon to interact with the community through workshops, conferences or mentoring activities.
Last year, when the program celebrated its tenth anniversary, cartoonist Éric Péladeau was awarded the title.
Authors are invited to apply online at https://fr.surveymonkey.com/r/GM7HF5K to be selected as 2019 Writer in Residence.
To be eligible, applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada, must be proficient in the French language, live in the Outaouais region, have published at least one work with a recognized publisher and be a member of at least one professional authors’ association.
The recipient will be selected by committee according to the following criteria:
Quality and originality of writing, regardless of style;
Contribution to regional literature;
Enthusiasm for participating in media opportunities;
Interest in public contact and exchange activities;
Relevance of the animation experience on the writing process.
