Park l’Imaginaire launches its summer program
The 2018 summer program for Park l’Imaginaire has been released. From July 4 to 18, performances at the park will resonate to the sound of World Music. Boogàt (July 4), Laetitia Zonzambe (July 11) and Mamselle Ruiz (July18) will dazzle the public. It all peaks with the Jazz Festival, from July 25 to 28. Local and international artists will take over the outdoor stage. There will be four shows. Kind of Blue, Roddy Ellias Trio, Diane Naliti Trio and Rafael Zaldivar.
The park l’Imaginaire won many hearts at last year’s June 24 celebrations with a family day fest in collaboration with l’Outaouais en fête. For the occasion, there was animation on site, face painting and free shows. The Maktoub Flamenco dance school offered a captivating performance. Also the group of guitarists, Strum, whose mission is to promote the international history of the guitar through performance, played a few pieces. The accomplished musician, Madeleine Owen, offered people the opportunity to learn more about the lute with her brilliant performance.
Guaranteed, evenings won’t be dull in Aylmer.
Renovations to the Centre, which began May 16, are still well underway at 9 Front Street. The Centre is now holding its second fundraising campaign, with a little over $50,000 already collected. The goal is $120,000 to complete the reconstruction of the building. Anyone interested in making a donation, can do so at limagier.org. (Transl: CL)
