Women: demand respect!
Over the years of my son’s study at the Ottawa University, I met many young students, bright and knowledgeable, ready to tackle the future (today’s present). This was very promising, but why it is that such a spectacular group is now spread around the world? Some joined LA developers, others like my son engaged in research in Washington D.C., and some went as far as Lichtenstein (IT Science ).
What is wrong with Canada? Why is it that our brightest and best achievers are leaving? My guess is it’s our attitude to things good and progressive. This reaches the top level, to the dismissal of Ministers Jody Wilson-Raybould and Dr. Jean Philpott, who are now running as independent candidates. I know how tough it is in the Independent situation.
When I left my old country I thought ‘dictatorial’ practices were over, only to encounter similarities all over again. Women, including the women in the military, where are you? Why do you accept these colonial attitudes – in 2019? Time to wake up and demand an apology, not just ask for the same over and over.
Our PM has the rare chance to present himself not just in speeches, but in actions “because it is the right thing to do”! I suggest he just do it, show us his heart is in the right place. In the 2019 election, all honesty will be questioned. But it takes a great man to do what is right.
My wife Danica told me, “If you can create sculptures, build a house, and cook a healthy meal, you can take care of our children.” So I did. This was a woman speaking, and I respected her.
