LETTER
When recycling is not good . . .
We constantly hear that recycling is a good thing, so when the federal Liberals quietly announced that 'asset recycling' would be part of their strategy for meeting their big-deal infrastructure promises, no one seemed to notice. We should notice. Asset recycling is a code word for selling our public goods for private profit. It's privatization by any other name. Watch for the words, “asset recycling”. It’s like watching for pickpockets. How long is this honeymoon lasting, or going to last, before we wake up and realize the groom has left the all-inclusive . . . without paying the bill?
