West Quebec’s Birthing Centre celebrates a quarter of a century

Parents, midwives, staff, and more celebrated Outaouais Birthing Centre’s 25th anniversary on June 7 with cake, snacks, refreshments and more on site.

Offering a different approach from the hospital route, the birthing centre, with their dozen midwives, has welcomed hundreds of women last year and thousands since moving to their state of the art facility on Gatineau Avenue, just behind the Gatineau CLSC.

Women who select the Birthing Centre are accompanied by two midwives from 4-6 weeks, to birth and even after birth for more or less one month. On top of the regular appointments, the Centre offers expecting parents different preparatory courses on site.

The birthing Centre, also offers parents in the Pontiac and in Aylmer services in their satellite office on Le Guerrier Street.
