Welding Association presents awards to Western Quebec
Career Centre students
In order to recognize their dedication to the welding trade, the Canadian Welding Association Foundation has awarded thirteen post-secondary students from the West Quebec Career Centre. The awards were presented during a luncheon followed by speeches from Deborah Mates and Andrew Bartlett, executive director and eastern technical outreach officer for the CWA Foundation.
The awards ceremony « helps [the students] get their career started », says Nick Aubin, welding teacher at the Western Quebec Career Centre. Awarding deserving students aligns with the CWA Foundation’s goal of supporting the Canadian welding industry by increasing public safety awareness in welding, and addressing the welding skilled trade shortage in Canada.
Damian Curley, principal of the Western Quebec Career Centre, said it’s been a great partnership with the CWA Foundation.
