LETTER
We did it, Pontiac! We got our Canada back!
The people of Pontiac have given me a strong mandate; the numbers from Elections Canada make that clear:
- 71.7% voter turnout, above the national average of 68.5% and far beyond the 60% Pontiac voter turnout from 2011;
- Over 34,000 votes cast for Amos (10,000 more than the previous record for any Pontiac candidate), and the 2nd highest vote total for any Quebec riding.
Thank you, voters, for exercising your right. Thank you, volunteers, for your contribution to democracy and positive politics. Thank you, fellow Pontiac candidates, for your courage, commitment and ideas. And a special thanks to Mathieu Ravignat for his four years of dedicated service to the people of Pontiac. I aspire to emulate his positive and accessible approach.
Over the next month, we will hire staff, open constituency offices and begin serving the public.
The smile on my face just won't go away -- being elected to Parliament is a dream come true! Rest assured that I will work hard to fulfil the hopes and needs of the people of Pontiac and to promote the national public interest.
Will Amos
Member of Parliament elect, Pontiac
