Water stations in Aylmer modernized
There are four water stations in Aylmer that will be updated between now and March 2018. These renovations are paid for by grants from the Ministry of Affaires municipales, which started in March of 2015. The city asked for a
portion of the $2.67 billion total – to be shared among all Quebec cities.
Work is underway at the large water treatment plant on Lucerne Boulevard near Parc Moussette, serving Hull-Aylmer, a $58 million modernization. The city estimates this major project will see the facility through the next 25 years.
According to city spokesperson, Yves Melanson, “The work scheduled for the Aylmer facilities is maintenance, similar to changing your car’s oil. The more often we can perform these updates, the better the plants will run in the future.”
