Two people were rescued after falling in the Ottawa River in Aylmer. Gatineau Fire services (SSIG) rescued them, April 25.
Firefighters arrived on the scene at around 5 pm, after receiving a call about three people stranded in the river. Upon arriving at the scene, one of the people had already swum back to the Gatineau shoreline.
Gatineau firefighters saved the other two in the water using a life boat, getting the situation under control by around 5:30 pm. A collaboration of the SSIG and Ottawa Fire Services, the incident involved nine firefighters and two emergency vehicles. All three people sustained injuries and were taken in my paramedics.
