Wakefield musician performs in Buckingham

Sunday March 6, local musician Anachnid performed at the third edition of Trace-moi. The local music festival, organized by Traces Arts Visuels in partnership with Khewa, celebrated 12 local artists with Indigenous, Métis and Inuit roots.
Anachnid, a Oji-Cree artist from Wakefield, performed in the online event, which was broadcast on Facebook and YouTube from the Café des Artistes in the Buckingham sector, in Gatineau.
Anachnid creates Indie, Trap, Electro, and Pop music. The multidisciplinary artist currently based in Montreal, Anachnid was the winner of the Indigenous artist of the year award this year and the SOCAN Foundation Indigenous Songwriter in 2019. Her debut album Dreamweaver was released in February 2020.
Traces Arts Visuels is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote the visual arts, disseminate artists from the Outaouais and elsewhere and make art more accessible. Khewa is a gallery-boutique that features artwork from Indigenous peoples throughout Canada. It is located in Wakefield at 737 Riverside.
