Update on the Office of the Ombudsman

On January 23rd, the municipal council voted to extend Mr André Guay's mandate as acting president of Gatineau's Office of the Ombudsman. His previous mandate ended on December 31, 2017.

The Auditor General is still working on a report on the investigation of the actions of the Office of the Ombudsman and their conformity to its role, responsibilities, and mandate. The council wants to delay the nomination of a new president  of the Office of the Ombudsman until the Auditor General's recommendations have been received.
