This article on page 9 has the subtitle, “Vous aimeriez apprendre l’arabe?” (and refers to the Aylmer mosque’s school). What is the connection between learning Arabic and Islam?
Islam is an ideology/religion and Arabic is a language. I learned Arabic in public school, not through a religion. Does anyone recommend learning French through the Catholic/ Protestant community ?
The article refers to religious services, sermons, and prayers. It refers to learning the Koran.
This is a promotion of a religion rather than a language, especially the teachings of the Koran. The last thing we need is more sharia-oriented teachings.
With all due respect, the journalist who wrote this should have done further research or analyzed its content better before publishing it.
