LETTER
Toward a Multiple/Multilateral Canada!
Reading our Bulletin d'Aylmer of June 28, 2017, once again in the 'Letters' section one finds a good way that readers are introduced to individual opinions. Some can be objective, based on life's experiences, and some may have been radicalized based on old practices or misguided assumptions.
Learning only from the past could keep us in the blindfolds of acquired attitudes -- in rigidity. We have crossed the line of our second millennium, and slowly we are entering the 'multiple' understanding of our own lives.
It is appropriate to congratulate the Bulletin d'Aylmer, all its writers, as well as the many contributors to the “Letters” section, and also editorialist Fred Ryan for his willingness and open mindedness in the search of grasping our humanity.
In this sense, I would like to assume that this newspaper is read by our PM, Justin Trudeau, and thank him for his correct decision not to enter into conflict with our neighbour (the old way) but, instead, reserving and postponing his right to his own thoughts (the view forward).
Thank you Bulletin d'Aylmer and all of its staff members. I say, in agreement with President Obama, that the world needs more Canada - the Multiple/Multilateral Canada!
NOTE: This letter is written in honour of Danica Betakova-Hlavina (July 1945-January 2009), a great Canadian woman of Slovak origin. She deserved all this.
Rasto Hlavina,
