LETTER
Tony Martins versus Publisher Emeritus Fred Ryan
Mr Martins, your article slighting a respected person of our community is distasteful, to say the least. We can agree or disagree all we want, but express it in a civilized manner, which you didn’t. You admit that “Fred Ryan can write well”, but sometimes you don’t get it because he is “abstract”. Perhaps you don’t understand a finer mind? Substance is good, but at times, reflections on the loftier plane by a mature, experienced writer, may trigger some higher ideas and inspire a reader. Abstract notions happen to intellectuals, and you, Mr. Martins, seem to get in a fist-fight mode when things don’t go your way.
