The Aylmer Food Bank’s Board of Directors and Team took the opportunity, on April 15, to celebrate its many and indispensable volunteers.
“Without volunteers, there would be no centre,” declared Gérard Émond, Aylmer Food Bank DG. “At the Food Bank, volunteering means 216 volunteers that offered 6,813 hours of their time in 2013-2014. A statistic that speaks for itself!”
According to Mr. Émond, the hours put in by the hundreds of volunteers are equivalent to almost four full time employees. “Can we even imagine for a second the Centre without volunteers? Better not even think about it!”
In appreciation of all these hours of work, the Centre offered a special evening to the volunteers: a hot meal, prizes and a show featuring music and hypnosis by Jonathan Prud’homme, member of the Canadian Hypnotherapy Association.
