The work of a modern policeman  

On the radio and TV these days we often hear about some ‘accusations’ whether sexual and other inappropriateness,  even about so-called “swatting” as a result of irresponsible phone calls. Yes it is true, it is our New Age of instant communication; I lived it the other day. I stopped at a gas station and, while filling, I leaned on my car –to my surprise I was approached by the Gatineau police. They were very polite, nice, quite professional. They asked some questions, like have you been drinking? No. Are you on some kind of medication? No, just the blood thinners for my age. You would not mind to give us a breathalyzer test? No, I wouldn’t mind. I was informed that I can lose my driver’s license, they can seize my car, etc.  As I said, no problem, being aware that I did not have any alcoholic drink in many, many years, and, of course, the reading was zero. I do not drink for two reasons, responsibilities and respecting, not wasting my  financial resources. After that we shook hands, and I said: Keep up the good work!

Just imagine everything they must go through in their work – yet they have to treat every call as the most important call, all the calls are for them very real – imagine the adrenaline and all! But what if? What if, the worst-case scenario?... Think about the consequences to them, to me, to all the people around the gas station, think of the butterfly effect which follows – suddenly we have entered the room of the ‘Multiple Sculpture’, introducing our ‘New Age’ of instant communication, and after the exposition is over and you have absorbed the beginning of a new reality you will approach another room of sculptures, much more complicated, the room of the “Multiple Thought and Understanding”. We must expect the unexpected in life ahead – us, and the police. Think about it!
