The largest dog park in the country?
In addition, such an expansion will extend the existing problems near the park to even more residents:
- Even more vehicles in the park parking lot - safety issues for other users; Increased traffic on neighbourhood streets - safety issues for pedestrians and cyclists; Even more off-leash dogs wandering on residents' property; Increased barking, yapping and howling at all hours of the day.
Until the City addresses these problems, which undermine the safety of other users of Jardins-Lavigne Park and the quality of life of many residents, the Association des résidents des Jardins-Lavigne opposes this expansion. A resolution to this effect was unanimously adopted and sent to the City and the members of the Municipal Council in February 2022.
The heart of our neighbourhood should not be the gateway to a recreational and tourist area for dog owners in the greater Gatineau-Ottawa region!
Your voice is important! If you are opposed to such an expansion of the dog run, please let your elected officials and the City know:
* Gilles Chagnon - Lucerne District Councillor
(chagnon.gilles@gatineau.ca), Councillor for our ward.
* Caroline Murray - Councillor for Deschênes, Aylmer
(murray.caroline@gatineau.ca), Councillor for Deschênes where the dog park is located.
* Call 3-1-1 to inform the City of Gatineau. (Translated)
