The High Road

 

I am sorry if Steve d’Eça felt I was attacking him personally in my letter of June 1. My comparison to the CEO of Exxon was limited strictly to his statements about the potential danger to the economy of strong action to reduce fossil fuel use. Saudi Arabia’s manipulation of oil prices has probably harmed the Canadian economy much more than would predictable and steady increases in a carbon tax. I thank Mr. d’Eça for presenting useful facts in his letters, but our goals should not be limited by what appears to be feasible.
