Special collection of bulky items
Special collection of bulky items
The special collection of construction waste scheduled for the week of May 13 in the Hull and Aylmer sectors has been postponed to May 21 and 24.
The city announced the news on May 8 due to road congestion due to spring flooding and the large volume of construction waste that had to be collected in these two areas.
It should be remembered that this collection will aim to collect bulky waste and construction residues from residents whose dimensions exceed those of a garbage container.
To be eligible for collection, bulky and construction waste must be clearly visible at the curb, unpackaged and stacked in an orderly and safe manner, nails on waste must be folded or removed, carpets and branches must be attached and items must be portable by two people.
While waiting for the next special collections, residents can bring their bulky-free-of-charge bulky items to the transshipment centre and their construction waste to the eco-centres, which are also free with a Gatineau residence card.
Citizens who wish to get rid of bulky recyclable or reusable items such as appliances and electronics can do so by calling 311 to request a home collection. (Trans.)
