The Atelier: Putting wellness at the forefront
The Atelier is all about exchanging information. It is an association with conferences, book clubs, outdoor outings – that’s what the Atelier is all about. The themes focus on well-being, nature, culture and the family.
Christine Denis and Sylvie Friedlander had the idea of creating a place of sharing for the people of Aylmer and elsewhere. They already have a busy schedule for 2020. Here is an overview.
Christine, life coach, speaker and author, offers us the conference “I just want peace”. Sylvie, massage therapist, will give a workshop on energy through massage. Nature specialists will teach their knowledge during outings in Gatineau Park. The calendar is dotted with book clubs.
In order to survive, the workshop requires membership. At an annual cost of $40 per address, this membership gives members a half-price rate on lectures and free admission to certain activities. Non-members can still join for an additional fee.
For the moment, speakers are offering their services on a volunteer basis. The organizers hope to be able to pay their guests in 2021. “We’ll be able to bring interesting people and experts in their field,” says Ms Denis, noting that some have declined to get involved because “there is a value to their expertise.”
The association depends entirely on memberships to subsidize itself. To register, just go to their website, www.associationlatelier.com.
The founders hope to expand their idea to other sectors of Gatineau in the future.
