LETTER

Thank you, Mr Armstrong!

 

I would like to thank Mr. Armstrong for his letter about homemakers and caregivers who take the bus. You, sir, have single-handedly pointed out to the entire readership of this paper why feminism still exists and will continue to exist well past the time you are rotting in your grave (having perished from whatever nasty little virus you picked up from that random "snot nosed kid" on the bus).

 

I am a homemaker who is blessed to own a car. However, in truth, our car payments are very tight on one salary and we have often considered selling it. Here's the thing I want to make clear to Mr. Armstrong and any troglodytes like him who may be reading this: it is my unpaid job to take my children to places that will enrich their lives and provide them with the learning experiences that will allow them to become well-rounded, kind and empathetic individuals. If I were to sell my car to make ends meet, how would entitled males such as Mr. Armstrong propose that I should travel to these places with my children?  Or would 21st century misogynists like him truly confine to their homes all women who choose this thankless job - forcing them to literally live up to the name "stay-at-home mom?"

 

I can't wait for the day that women who take on the important career of caring for their children at home are paid so that they might afford a basic car payment, allowing the Mr. Armstrongs of the world to be less inconvenienced by our presence.
