Symmes Inn Museum opens June 9
The Symmes Inn Museum will open its doors Sunday, June 9, at 1 pm. Multiple activities are planned, including a smudging ceremony according to Aboriginal ritual, sacred songs and drums, animation with Théâtre Dérives Urbaines, as well as various stories, legends, folk music and historical occupations with local people in period costume.
The day will also mark the beginning of the new exhibition, Par forêts et rivières: des hommes de courage. It will pay tribute to the loggers and rafters who contributed to the development of the forest industry in the Outaouais.
The Museum invites all those who wish to wear period costumes to do so. (T)
