LETTER
Support for Thompsett letter on Conservative candidate
Compliments to Mr Robert L. Thompsett for his article last week (February 20 issue) concerning Mr Mike Duggan, city councilor for the city of Gatineau, and one of the three local politicians representing Aylmer around the council table. Mr Thompsett was replying to Mr Jaime Cartwright’s letter (February 13 issue) from the previous week.
Mr Cartwright seemed surprised that Mike Duggan will be the Conservative candidate for Hull-Aylmer in the upcoming federal election (October) and not the NDP candidate.
Mr Thompsett clearly and succinctly states that Mr Duggan is a man of integrity, a virtue which is missing in the NDP. It is also lacking in the Liberal Party of Canada. In fact, both these mainstream political parties are bankrupt on morals and ethics, essential components that go a long way in bringing better governance to Canada and Canadians. Asking Mike Duggan to run for the New Democrats is like asking me, a member of the Christian Heritage Party of Canada, to run for the Liberals. Absolutely preposterous.
Our Prime Minister, Mr Justin Trudeau, has promised open government, tax breaks (lower taxes) for hard-working middle-class Canadians, and electoral reform. He’s failed miserably in all three areas. Canadian citizens continue to pay the price for his broken promises.
Psalm 128:1 says, Blessed are those who fear the Lord! Mr Trudeau does not fear the Lord. God has given us the government that we deserve.
As a nation, we have lowered our standard of living, and have lost much respect on the world stage.
Mr Duggan is a Conservative. His love for Canada and my love for Canada far exceed Justin Trudeau’s love for himself. God willing, Mike Duggan will become Hull-Aylmer’s next Member of Parliament.
Sean Mulligan, Aylmer
