Storage project going forward in La Croisée

The community storage project for La Croisée neighbourhood in Aylmer is going ahead. “Our non-profit community association is now finally in the process of sub-contracting and paying for the shed construction this spring,” indicated La Croisée website.
This project was identified as a neighbourhood priority in a community survey report released in 2016. The shed would mainly help centralize and grow community owned assets for events and simplify set-up of community events. Once built in La Croisée Park, the community association would relinquish the shed to the city, but La Croisée members would continue to maintain and use the shed.
The community association is, however, looking to raise funds to ensure that it remains financially sound. “Our current available funds may not be enough to grow our community events and gatherings in 2019,” said a message on the website. Deschênes councillor Mike Duggan will match donations.
