STO drops a trip on Route 58
Due to a lack of ridership, on September 12 the STO cancelled Route 58’s 6:55 am trip towards Allumettières park-and-ride.
“In the past, we offered this trip since, originally, the bus was already on the Ontario side after completing a trip from Rivermead to Tunney’s Pasture. It therefore needed to come back to the Quebec side. That return trip was offered to the public. But last year, there was an average of one rider per day,” explained Céline Gauthier, spokesperson for the STO.
“When we made the fall changes, the 6:55 am trip still had no ridership for Tunney’s Pasture – Allumettières park-and-ride. We therefore converted that trip to benefit Route 59 riders, from Hippodrome.”
The STO reports that it continues to make adjustments in Aylmer, according to ridership and the needs of the commuters, with the establishment of the new network in Aylmer – all of which does not please all riders.
