LETTER
“Speed has no place in Gatineau”
Ever wondered why a simple planning application takes the city months to process? Why it took the police 6 weeks to arrive on a 911 call when my home was burgled? Why holes in the road stay there for years on end? On Tuesday, a newsletter from Councillor Jocelyn Blondin arrived in my letterbox explaining all.
“Speed has no place in Gatineau”, it blazed. So, there you have it. Councillors like Blondin have made it city policy to make sure that all the staff drag their knuckles on the floor and behave just like the vehicle licensing sloths in the movie, “Zootopia”.
So, next time you’re visibly ageing as you stand unattended at the front desk while the receptionist swigs coffee, looking out the window, rest assured that they aren’t being ignorant or lazy... it’s council policy to move at a glacial pace and provide services (that are certainly second to some) as slowly as possible.
