Soccer Outaouais seeks to counter bullying against referees
To counter bullying in soccer and in sports in general, Soccer Outaouais and its partners have launched an awareness campaign entitled “Ensemble contre l’intimidation”.
Built around four informative and sarcastic video capsules, each lasting one minute, 15 seconds, the objective is to make various sports stakeholders realize that the game must remain a matter of pleasure for everyone.
The capsules, available on YouTube and shared by the organization on these social networks, show toxic behaviours by various stakeholders in the recreational sports community, including coaches, parents, players, as well as cyberbullying in general.
The campaign will be spread over two sporting seasons: the summer season and the autumn-winter season. During this period, a new capsule will be launched each week for 4 weeks per season for a total of eight capsules.
The organization hopes to reach up to half a million Quebecers with the initiative, in partnership with Soccer Québec and the entire network of soccer teams across the province.
The campaign started on July 24th and the first capsule is now available. (Trans.: BA)
