Sky ablaze: Aylmer’s own Fire on Ice - January 26

The sky above the Aylmer Marina will be filled with colour, January 26, for a brand new event, Les Feux sur glace or Fire on Ice.  The outdoor event starts with a 5 pm to 7 pm network cocktail, no matter the cold, with outdoor bars on site. Grilled marshmallows and s’mores will be the treat. At 7 pm the fireworks take off, lighting up the sky over the frozen river. This is the first Les Feux sur glace at the Marina.

Everything is presented by a local company, Kuma Fireworks, specializing in creating pyrotechnic shows. The evening’s proceeds go to the Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada, which “gives their most cherished dream to children aged 3 to 17 years with life-threatening illnesses.”  

Kuma Fireworks has performed in hundreds of shows, including the Casino du Lac-Leamy’s great fireworks displays and Calgary’s GlobalFest. Festival-goers will not be disappointed on January 26. The company once set three Guinness records for a show in Kuwait. Kuma Fireworks promises a “magical evening”.
