Showing solidarity with cancer survivors
Students, teachers, and one very generous city councillor volunteered to have their head shaved during L’École du Village’s Leucan challenge, held March 30 at the new gymnasium. Councillor Mike Duggan, at left, told the Bulletin that he planned to do a little shopping before heading home that night. “I definitely need to pick up some some flowers for my wife. She doesn’t know I was actually going to get my head shaved; she just thinks I was attending the event. Head shaving and skydiving—those are things you don`t tell your spouse until after it’s already done.” Last November, Councillor Duggan also grew a mustache, for the Movember prostate cancer challenge. Organizers at the school reported that the children managed to raise $4,741. (JM)
