$310,000 for Outaouais Justice Centre
The Outaouais Community Justice Centre (OCJC) has received $313,305. Quebec Justice Minister, Attorney General, and Gatineau MNA Stéphanie Vallée made the announcement July 29.
“I am happy to see that thousands of Outaouais citizens were able to benefit from the services offered by the community justice centre since it opened. Its contribution is concrete and this is why our government is proud to financially support its activities so that it can continue to offer outreach and information services as well as free and quality support that answers the needs of our area’s population,” declared Minister Vallée.
The centre, located at 5 Laval Street in Hull, offers legal information, support and guidance to Outaouais citizens. The OCJC opened its doors in September 2015. It has since responded to 3,860 requests for legal information.
Citizens can get free personalized legal information, support and guidance on issues such as separation, succession, small claims or even on the different conflict resolution avenues (mediation, negotiation, etc.) – in person or by phone.
The centre’s legal team organizes workshops and public information sessions. Last year, approximately 550 participants registered for 32 sessions and workshops. Toll free : 1-844-600-4600.
