LETTER
Selling woodland means you have sold out
Open letter to City Council:
Having the woodland sold at Fraser and Lucerne just told me that you sold out the constituents of your riding --- for a business opportunity!
That woodland has endangered species from a tree to birds and animals. It housed some beavers and has a wetland, home for ducks and geese! How could you!!
Do you think that people need an arena more than understanding the nature around them?
I have taken my children there and my grandchildren. We have seen the beavers, various birds and animals. We have walked in the rustling of leaves in the fall and we have snowshoed in the winter. This is exercise that no arena can give, plus appreciation for our world! We, the people, have this right and you propose to destroy it!
If this goes through you have lost our vote - our whole family - eight adults will be voting against you in the next election, and probably our friends and their families!
If you really do listen, then back down.
The city already destroyed Fraser Field and sold it for about $700,00 to $900,000 to a developer who (is said to have) made millions off the land in housing, in all of which I am sure something suspicious took place.
