Seeing the Ukraine in simplistic terms
The first thing we must do is to deconstruct the simplistic black and white good-guys-versus-bad-guys narrative we've been sold by our media. Yes, Putin is committing war crimes. But there is growing evidence of retaliatory Ukrainian crimes, including the disappearance of pro-Russian mayors in eastern Ukrainian cities. We must focus on a diplomatic solution. The USA wants to fight this war to the last Ukrainian. The US arms industry is delighted!
Whatever happened to diplomacy? How could this war have been prevented or was that even possible as war often serves as a distraction and to booster certain economies. Yes, sanctions punish some of the Russian elites and oligarchs but what about the ordinary everyday Russians who struggle in life and living? It's criminal how the west is fuelling war by supplying arms. It's a bloodbath -- on both sides. The war crimes are horrific. The repercussions of this war will last for centuries as have the wars before and the lessons in history will be repeated because little was learned or retained.
