“Save the Bell Tower”
St. Mark’s church seeks public help to rebuild their bell tower
St. Mark’s church, a heritage landmark in Aylmer for over 60 years, is looking for public support.
The church is currently plagued by several critical structural problems that require immediate attention. To deal with this reconstruction challenge, members of the parish have launched the "Save the Bell Tower" fundraising campaign, reaching out to all Aylmerites. The goal is to raise $100,000. Parishioners have contributed over $40,000 in various ways in the last few months.
“Hundreds of skilled tradespersons, entrepreneurs, professionals and civic leaders from St. Mark’s have volunteered over the years to help build Aylmer into the vibrant and exciting community it is now,” fundraising organizer Skip Brooks told the Bulletin. “Any contribution could help maintain that kind of community development. A tax receipt will be available with any donation.”
