SAQ’s call for tender is over and the provincial crown corporation is analyzing proposals it received for a new upscale Aylmer outlet. According to SAQ spokesperson Renaud Dugas, “there should be more details about the venture in mid-September.”
As reported in the Bulletin this past spring, the call for tender launched this past April sought a LEED locale of 530 square meters on Aylmer Road between Wilfrid-Lavigne Boulevard and Grimes Road to accommodate a new SAQ Selection.
Unlike the classic SAQ outlet, the Selection banner offers a greater variety of products, including wines from the well-known Cellier space.
The SAQ launched a call for tender because their lease at the Galeries Aylmer ended. After examining the local market the provincial crown corporation opted to open a larger outlet carrying additional products.
Depending on the proposals they’ve received, the SAQ could revamp their actual location in the Galeries Aylmer since the shopping mall is located within SAQ’s targeted area.
