LETTER
Rural Internet Connectivity
It was a shock and a big disappointment to read “Pontiac MP introduces motion addressing rural digital infrastructure”. During the 2015 federal campaign, Mr Amos regularly and often criticized the sitting opposition MP, Mathieu Ravignat (NDP) for not getting anything done even though the Conservative government of the day did its utmost to prevent Mr Ravignat from getting any credit for achievements he may have made for his constituents. Amos said during the campaign that his Liberal government would accomplish rural high speed internet connectivity. Now, three years into his mandate, he wants to “discuss” a motion so that his party gets an “understanding of the issues rural Canadian’s face” regarding the lack of high speed internet availability in rural Pontiac.
This failure to act for Pontiac residents is not totally Mr Amos’ fault. The Liberal government has not lived up to its promises, and this is one directly felt in the Pontiac.
