Rouge Vape offers to end the second hand smoke problem

 

Rouge Vape offers its clientele a healthier alternative to smoking traditional cigarettes. The electronic or e-cigarette store operates multiple locations in Gatineau, including a franchise on Wilfrid-Lavigne.

The franchise owner, Mike Henry said that his own experience with smoking made him want to offer a better alternative to the public.

“I used to smoke two packs a day,” Henry said. “I’ve been coaching hockey for 11 years and when I started having trouble keeping up with the kids I knew I needed to find a healthier alternative, so I began vaping in 2014.”

Henry says that vaporizing nicotine through an electronic cigarette is better for you than lighting up a traditional smoke.

Scientists say there are over 4,000 compounds in cigarette smoke. A sizeable number of them are toxic - they are bad for us and damage our cells. Some of them cause cancer - they are carcinogenic.

Law 44 has affected the way Rouge Vape now does business and all amendements to Bill 44 regarding traditional cigarettes will also effect the electronic cigarettes industry. Henry continues to conform with Bill 44 and is committed to his clientele.  "People should have the right to be educated and chose a better and safer alternative to traditional tobacco products." states Henry.

Rouge Vape gets most of its products from Canada due to the restrictions on bringing nicotine products across the U.S.-Canada border, although there are some distributors in Canada that carry American products.

The clientele at Rouge Vape ranges from 18 to as old as 91, but Henry says that 70 percent of his customers are between the ages of 30 to 50 and mostly not from the ages of 18 to 25.

Henry counsels that people looking to make a health conscious decision to educate themselves about the product.

“This is the people’s solution to the tobacco problem,” said Henry.
