Resto Bar Marina open for food, fun and dancing !
Despite a full schedule of live music and the water-side patio by the Marina, there are plenty of usual customers who think the Marina is closed or closing. Open for several weeks for the 2017 season, the tables are set with sun-umbrellas out for customers. Live entertainment draws a full dance floor three nights a week.
However, even though the restaurant and bar are in full swing, there is a drop in reservations, especially for next year’s wedding season. May flooding damages is one reason visitors are going elsewhere right now. The city plan to rebuild the Marina restaurant pavilion is another challenge for the family who rent the restaurant space from Gatineau. Neighbours received flyers distributed by Gatineau to residents explaining the plans to knock down the Marina Pavilion building in 2018. With this news drawing much attention, especially with the coverage in the Bulletin d’Aylmer and elsewhere, the owners say bookings for next summer plummeted compared with other years. “We have a lease that ends November 2019,” explained one owner. “We have no reason, no indication from the building owners, to believe we should hold off taking reservations at this beautiful place to celebrate.”
