LETTER
Reply: Gatineau Park, Paris Accord are linked
I found the letter by Mr Murray of the Gatineau Park committee very disturbing, and I did look up the document he referenced. (I cannot claim to have read it in its entirety.) Two questions spring to my mind and they are, why is the NCC still in charge of Gatineau Park, which they seem to consider as a chunk of real estate for them to capitalize on?
My second question is to our MP, Mr Amos, who wrote in the following week’s Bulletin that he is an environmental lawyer, very concerned with the Paris Accord, and determined to protect the environment. Sir, your sentiments about the Paris Accord are inspiring, but your lack of concern and involvement with Gatineau Park – which is in your riding – seem to run counter to these other statements of yours. How about focussing on issues at home, and leave the World events to the newspapers? How about a letter to the Bulletin on Gatineau Park becoming a genuine national park?
