LETTER
Raccoons on the road
I witnessed a disturbing incident on Monday, October 7, and I wrote a little blurb about it, in hopes of it being printed, at least as a caution to others.
Due to the expanding urbanization of our local area, we need to be extra diligent of the wildlife being expropriated from their homes. They are confused and are apt to stroll into newly populated areas.
My special message to the person in a black SUV, who, on Monday evening, deliberately ran over a family of raccoons crossing Blvd du Plateau, near the Canadian Tire: You had plenty of time to stop, as others did. Most had their lights flashing as a warning. You should be ashamed of yourself and I hope someone was able to get a description and licence number of your vehicle and report you.
G. Vermette,
Aylmer
