Four new candidates for the Quebec provincial elections were confirmed this week for the Outaouais region. Jolaine Paradis-Châteauneuf was announced as the Parti Quebecois Candidate for the Pontiac electoral district and Wittlyn Kate Semervil was announced as the Quebec Liberal Party candidate for the Papineau district. Semervil is a lawyer and mediator and Jolaine Paradis-Châteauneuf is a social worker working for the CISSS Outaouais. Both the Liberal and Parti Quebecois candidates were announced on August 11.
The Coalition Avenir Quebec (CAQ) also announced two new candidates, on August 12. Corinne Canuel-Jolicoeur will run as candidate for Pontiac and Suzanne Tremblay will be the candidate for Hull. Canuel-Jolicoeur is a real-estate agent and Suzanne Tremblay is the president of the Outaouais Teachers Union (Syndicat de l’Enseignement de l’Outaouais).
All four candidates have expressed their commitment and dedication to their respective electoral districts. More information about their party platforms and priorities can be found on their parties’ respective webpages.
This week’s announcement brings the total number of candidates for the Liberal Party and the Parti Quebecois to four for both parties. There remains one Liberal candidate to be confirmed for Chapleau and one Parti Quebecois candidate to be confirmed for Papineau. The CAQ’s announcement of two new candidates completes their set of candidates for the Outaouais, with a total of five.
