Putin and Trump

 

To understand the 'problem' of relations between Russia and the West, we could turn to my sculpture (the Multiple/Multilateral Sculpture, “Thought and Understanding”, Rasto 1969) to put it in terms of our familiar perceptions. The multiple sculpture is a cooperation of forms or, in short, a 'corporation'.

This is what Donald Trump, a successful and proven leader, did, and is proposing to Americans. Quite correctly, he is taking this option to the people.

Assume that Russia and the West are 'Corporations'. Corporations often take evasive action to avoid 'takeovers' and in crucial times to seek protection under Chapter 11. There is nothing wrong in this; the corporation goes on something like a 'life support'.

Forget the 'practice of politics'. That never worked in the past and resulted in conflicts costing millions (billions) of innocent lives by virtue of humanity being under the spell of propaganda.

This is the situation between Russia and the West. That is what President Putin comprehended before the West came to realize it in the form of the Donald Trump. Trump thinks fast, and dances to the tune of 21st Century quite well!

This is the beginning of a slow departure from the old colonialist practices. This will need knowledge and imagination and certainly not an 'Obedience School', for which we later have to apologize. It is obvious that, for any corporation to be successful, it needs to be all-inclusive of people and unions, which would change the scenario of governance (more democratic) since the people will become shareholders, with dividends.

Are we ready for such coming change?
