Private Health Care's coming -- on plan

 

If Premier Ford passes Bill C-7 in Ontario, it will empower Conservatives across the country to push their own privatization agendas. So what can we do? We need to build power and energy behind social democratic solutions that will expand and strengthen our universal, public health care instead of opening the door any further for private corporations to hijack our healthcare.
    It might seem like our healthcare system is only crumbling because of the pandemic. But in reality, this was the plan pushed by conservative think tanks and lobbyists all along. Years of underpaying and overworking healthcare staff has manufactured this crisis. Pushing patients into loosely regulated, private facilities does not fix the problem, it only hides it.
    The progressive movement built our public healthcare. 60 years ago this summer, we rallied together and won a near-impossible fight. We need to fight again.
