Old Aylmer Festival
Principale celebrates despite the rainy weather
Nearly 7,000 festivalgoers enjoyed the various activities that were spread along Main Street this weekend, despite a rainy Saturday and an equally grey Sunday.
The musical festivities began at the Bistro Mexicana on Friday, August 16, with the performance of the Carlos Santana tribute band, Evil Ways, and continued with performances by Kashmir, Jason Coyle and Party Sergeant, Uno and Sax-Air, among others.
While the music was playing and the kids were having fun on the inflatables, many were trying to escape the infernal “HellScape” escape game that had been set up at Maison Conroy at 61 rue Principale.
Festivalgoers were able to enjoy the wonderful public art trail “All-terrain” at the L’Imagier exhibition centre as well as the clothing and fantastic quirks presented by Steampunk Outaouais.
The parking lot of the Bistro l’Autre Oeil was packed with people cheering for their favourite wrestlers during the show presented by Lutte 07, which will be back in Aylmer on October 18 at the Aydelu Centre.
All in all, despite the less than favourable weather, the Festival du Vieux-Aylmer was able to promote the community and entrepreneurial spirit of the sector.
