Potential gunshots in Aylmer lead to police chase down Plateau Boulevard
Gatineau Police were called to a residential building on Polder Street, in the waking hours Friday, November 22, to investigate multiple calls citing gunfire in the area.
When police arrived on the scene, they were greeted by a rapidly fleeing vehicle that they pursued through Aylmer and into the Plateau, racing down Plateau Boulevard.
In his attempted escape, the culprit collided with another vehicle between Du Prado Street and Europe Boulevard, and he was then arrested. No one was injured.
Police seized “a long weapon” from inside the vehicle of the 25-year-old Ontario resident who appeared in front of the Quebec Court later the same day to answer allegations relating to breaches of commitment. Police maintain that further charges related to firearms and driving infractions will be filed.
At the time of writing on November 22, 3:30 PM, the investigation remains ongoing.
