LETTER
Political cooperation and public transit
I wanted to thank Lee Bourdon for last week's letter regarding federal infrastructure projects. Instead of this persistent lobbying for rail-based vehicles, I think that our new MP should step back and think of the bigger picture and the technical realities of his
proposals.
We need efficient solutions that the city can afford to operate after they are built, particularly during the icy winter months, and that do not result in lane reductions to our already congested road spaces. Let's listen to the specialists and respect the role and hard work of our STO transit authority.
The citizens of Aylmer will be well-served when the representatives of our provincial and federal governments (all Liberal majorities) work with the municipalities on roads, bridges/tunnels, and other infrastructure projects.
