As part of an operation aimed at taking down fentanyl trafficking operations in the city, Gatineau Police (SPVG) arrested eight local drug dealers on November 26, following raids at four Aylmer residences. According to a press release issued by the SPVG on November 27, police started investigating the matter a couple of weeks ago after receiving information about it from the public.

The press release stated that police also seized a few weapons, including a Taser, a machete, a pellet gun, and some ammunition. It added that the SPVG collaborated with the Service de la sécurité public de la MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais in another drug bust in Val des Monts, at 223 chemin de la Promenade.
