Gatineau police (SPVG) wants victims in an ongoing fraud investigation to contact them. Since January 2014, an alleged scammer presenting himself as a sales representative visited Gatineau merchants looking to sell advertising for a hockey magazine called MAG QMJHL. According to police, the magazine is defunct.
The suspect allegedly defrauded several merchants by promising an advertisement in the magazine for money or in exchange of gift certificates.
The SPVG believes they’ve identified the fraudster and wish to complete its investigation to present to the Director of Criminal and Penal Prosecutions (DCPP) for approval shortly.
