Police search in Aylmer
The Regional Squad in Aylmer
Following a three-month inquiry and with search warrants in hand, the “Escouade régionale mixte Gatineau” (ERM Gatineau) searched two addresses in Gatineau on February 5, 2015, at 2 pm, one of which was in Aylmer, at 20 Augusta Street, Apt.1. The residence is located east of the DoubleTree – Hilton Hotel (Château Cartier) and north of Aylmer Road. The other address was 285 Laurier Street, Apt. 508, in Hull.
The Aylmer search ended with the arrest of a woman and two men aged respectively 19, 21 and 34. The three individuals were arrested while on the road, driving a vehicle. Altogether, police seized $59,275, 80.1 grams of white powder still to be analyzed, as well as twelve cell phones, five portable computers, an iPad and a vacuum packaging machine. Two vehicles were also seized, a Hyundai Accent and a Mercedes-Benz. The ERM Gatineau will file charges of drug trafficking, drug possession for the purpose of trafficking, simple possession of drugs and possession of stolen goods.
Amongst the five people arrested, three of whom are from Aylmer, some were known by the police to have been involved in drug matters. As for the residents of 285 Laurier Street, App. 508, this was a known address for the Gatineau Police. (LRC)
