Plenty for bird-watching!

May 4. Deschênes Rapids.  An invitation of the Club des ornithologues de l’Outaouais (COO).  This site has been declared an important bird area (IBA) by Nature Canada and there’s a tremendous amont of birds activity going on with the spring migration. We’ll look at aquatic birds on the river and marshes, as well as numerous passerines species in surrounding woods.

May 5. Spring breeding of the Northern Raven.  For years, Langis conducted ravens-nest inventories within the COO territory. He’ll guide us to many nesting spots along a circuit of roughly 100 km, between Gatineau and Eardley-Masham road. At the beginning of May, it’s highly likely that we’ll see offsprings at nest!  re-registration with Monique Boivin 819-639-9919  info@coo.qc.ca.

May 9. Thursday’s vesperal walk, Forêt de Chantegrive (Manoir des Trembles).  Observing spring migration in an enchanting spot in the city’s heart, where the urban forest meets open spaces:  Wood Duck, Baltimore Oriole, Ruby-throated Hummingbird, many warblers species and…thrushes!  As well as many species of spring flowering plants.
